When families, church groups, coworkers, or friends gather to celebrate year-end holidays, exchanging gifts is inevitably a part of the festivities. If you're in charge of the group gift exchange, here are ideas that might help. |

gift ideas (excerpted from Present Perfect) See also: gifts for families, workplace gift exchanges Give each group member a card on which to write his or her name and a short wish list of items within a specified price range. Place the cards in a container. Have group members draw cards and buy gifts for the people whose names they draw. Have each person bring a wrapped gift that would be appropriate for any member of the group. Place all of the gifts in a large bag and let each person draw a gift from the bag. Set a low spending limit—a couple of dollars, for example—and give a prize to the person who gives the best gift for the money. In lieu of giving gifts, exchange humorous cards in a funniest-card competition. Shopping for humorous cards will provide comic relief from holiday stresses and group members will have some good laughs when the cards are exchanged.
Instead
of giving gifts to one another, make a group contribution to a community
interest. Or collect toys, food, or other items for charity.
